*** Mise en place
Thawed chicken breasts
Dredging pan (flour, salt, pepper)
White wine or chicken stock
2 teaspoons of capers (with splash of caper juice)
juice of 1/2 lemon

Poussin's Grave

Nicolas Poussin (15 June 1594 – 19 November 1665) was a French painter in the classical style. His painting "Et in Arcadia ego" was featured in the book, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" - the tale of which was so interesting that it inspired The Gothic Gourmet to write this poem.

"Poussin's Grave" is a doomy poem and as such seemed especially fitted for a doom piece of music though in its original context it fits securely in the Classical style much like the painter himself.

"Poussin's Grave" was read in grim voice by The Gothic Gourmet.
Music was written and performed by Patrick Golden.

The title is simple, A Poem, but the words are a response to a life well lived. The Gothic Gourmet wrote this in November, 2006 and reads it here out loud for the first time.
